Column Configuration

With Config Mode switched on, click the Column Configuration button to display a pop up screen that will allow users to add points/attributes as columns to the Data Grid template.

Screen elements:

  • Columns in left panel represented as rows
  • Add New Column/Close buttons
  • Validation Panel
  • Attributes Panel

Every template requires 3 mandatory columns. Each column on the template is represented as a row in this section. The mandatory columns are displayed above in rows 1 – 3 and cannot be altered/removed.

A default blank column set to Point is displayed to begin adding data columns to the template. This is displayed in row 4.

Add New Column:

Column overview. Each column(row) has the following:

  • Col – column id/order on the template
  • Column Type – Point Value, Point Date, Point Attribute, or Asset Attribute
  • Column Width – width on the template
  • Point Name – the name of the point to be mapped (dragged from the tree)
  • Column Label – the text that will appear on the column heading on the template and in Excel
  • Validation – link to view any validation for a column
  • Read Only – Marking a row as read-only means the value/attribute value will be displayed in the template, but changes cannot be made. The number of decimal places can be set via the Web Config “Decimal Places” setting. The Column Type of “Point Date” is always set to read-only as it only displays the date and does not give an option to enter a date.
  • Delete – deletes the column. A prompt is given and once confirmed, this cannot be undone.

New columns can be added by clicking the Add New Column button. New rows with empty form fields will appear in the left panel and will be highlighted in blue:

Each column can have one of the following types:

  • Point Value - The value of a point.
  • Point Date - The date of the value on a point.
  • Point Attribute - The value of an attribute on a point.
  • Asset Attribute - The value of an attribute on an asset (container).
